PROTESTS have broken out in Cairo just hours after 25 people were killed in an explosion near the capital’s Coptic Cathedral.
At least 25 people have died and 49 more are injured in the blast, with the number expected to rise, according to Egyptian state television.
The explosion rocked St Peter and St Paul Coptic Orthodox Church within St Mark’s Coptic Cathedral grounds as a Sunday mass was held coinciding with a national holiday in Egypt marking the birth of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.
